Defending the Atrocity That is Late-Term Abortion
Late-term abortion supporters are the extremists.
In a disappointing–but not altogether shocking–vote, Senate Democrats this week blocked the passage of a bill that would protect children. Specifically, this dealt with children that had survived an attempt on their life through an abortion procedure, on which grounds the Democrats argued this was somehow a threat to women’s health.
As puzzling as it is why those on the Left cannot bring themselves to protect newborns, it is not surprising. Rather, this is part of a trend among progressive Democrats to take the extremist view against life. I am reminded of a recent piece from Jessica Valenti from earlier this month, written as a response to President Trump’s State of the Union address, that actively defends the late-term abortion legislation recently passed in New York and debated in Virginia. (It was in the context of the Virginia legislation that Governor Northam made comments that seemingly advocated for infanticide. Of course, this controversy was quickly brushed over as Northam was swept up in his infamous “blackface” scandal.)
Valenti first attempted to refute Trump’s rhetoric that the legislation would “allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments from birth.” Her only response: “That’s a lie.”
